Are Job Boards Dying?

A lot of the senior roles I fill never get advertised.

Job boards are flooded right now. AI has made it so easy to produce a polished CV and cover letter meaning hiring managers and recruiters are drowning in applications that all look and sound the same.

So a lot of recruiters, myself included, have stopped relying on them.

When I have a senior role to fill, I go to my network first. People I have placed before, people I know, people I can genuinely vouch for. It is faster, the quality is better, and my clients get a much better result.

The consequence of that is more senior roles are being filled without ever being advertised. If you are job hunting and the market feels quiet, it might not be you. The roles are there, they are just not where you are looking.
